This Cookie Policy explains how Moquz.com ("Moquz.com", "we", "us" or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies such as browser local storage. It also explains the choices you have and how to manage them in your browser. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal data more generally.
We have kept our website deliberately lightweight. It is a static site, it does not load analytics or advertising trackers, and it stores only one small preference in your browser. This page explains that in detail so you can see for yourself.
Moquz.com currently uses no analytics cookies, no advertising cookies and no social media tracking. The only thing we store is a localStorage entry called mq_cookie_choice that remembers your answer to our cookie banner. If we ever add analytics, we will ask for your consent before anything loads.
1. What cookies and local storage are
1.1 Cookies
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to save on your device. The browser sends the cookie back to the website on later visits, which lets the site recognize the device. Cookies can be:
- First-party, set by the website you are visiting, or third-party, set by another domain whose content is embedded in the page (for example an advertising network or video player);
- Session cookies, which are deleted when you close your browser, or persistent cookies, which remain until they expire or you delete them; and
- Strictly necessary, needed for a site feature you asked for, or non-essential, used for analytics, personalization or advertising.
1.2 Local storage
Local storage (localStorage) is a feature built into every modern browser that lets a website save small pieces of data on your device. Unlike cookies, local storage data is not automatically sent to the web server with every request; it stays in your browser and can only be read by scripts from the same website. It also has no built-in expiry date: it remains until you clear it or the website removes it.
Privacy laws such as the EU ePrivacy Directive and the UK PECR treat local storage in the same way as cookies, so we describe both in this policy. Where we say "cookies" below, we mean cookies and similar technologies.
2. What this site actually uses
Here is the complete list of cookies and browser storage items set by Moquz.com:

That is it. The mq_cookie_choice entry contains only your banner choice. It does not contain an identifier, it is not linked to your name or email address, and it is never sent to our server or to anyone else.
Because this entry is needed to remember a choice you actively made, it counts as strictly necessary and does not require consent. Declining cookies does not remove it: we still need to remember that you declined.
On a desktop browser, open the developer tools (usually F12 or right-click > Inspect), go to the Application or Storage tab and look under Cookies and Local Storage for moquz.com. You will see the single mq_cookie_choice entry and no tracking cookies.
3. What we do not use
At the time of writing, Moquz.com does not use any of the following:
- analytics tools such as Google Analytics or similar visitor statistics services;
- advertising cookies, retargeting pixels or ad networks;
- social media tracking pixels or embedded "like" and "follow" widgets;
- heatmaps, session recordings or fingerprinting scripts;
- affiliate tracking cookies; or
- login or account cookies (the site has no user accounts).
Our contact and newsletter forms work without setting cookies. When you submit a form, the information you typed is sent to our mailbox through our email service provider, as described in our Privacy Policy.
4. If we add analytics in the future
We may one day decide to use privacy-friendly analytics to understand which guides are most useful. If we do, we promise the following:
Consent first
No non-essential cookie or script will load until you click "Accept" in our cookie banner. If you decline or ignore the banner, nothing extra loads.
Updated table
We will add every new cookie or storage item to the table in section 2, with its provider, purpose and duration.
Easy withdrawal
You will be able to change your mind at any time with the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.
Privacy policy update
We will update our Privacy Policy with the provider, legal basis and any international transfers.
We will also honor Global Privacy Control signals where the law requires it, and we will not use analytics data for advertising.
5. Third-party content, share links and external sites
5.1 Share buttons
The share buttons on our articles are plain links. They do not load any scripts, images or cookies from social networks while you read our pages. Only when you click a share button are you taken to that network's website (for example to post a link), and from that moment the network's own cookie and privacy policies apply.
5.2 External links
Our guides link to official websites such as spotify.com, Spotify Support, Google Play Help and the US Copyright Office. When you follow such a link, you leave Moquz.com and the destination site may set its own cookies. We have no control over those cookies. Please review the cookie policy of each site you visit.
5.3 Images and fonts
Images on our site are served from our own domain. If we ever embed third-party content such as a video player or music widget, we will either load it only after you consent or show a placeholder that you can click to load it, and we will list any cookies it sets in section 2.
6. Server logs are not cookies
Our hosting provider keeps standard access logs (IP address, browser user agent and timestamp) for up to 30 days for security purposes. These logs are created on the server, not in your browser, and do not involve cookies or local storage. They are explained in our Privacy Policy.
7. Changing your choice on this site
You can reopen our cookie banner at any time by clicking the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of any page. This resets your stored choice so you can accept or decline again. Your new choice takes effect immediately and replaces the old value of mq_cookie_choice.
You can also remove the entry entirely by clearing site data for moquz.com in your browser (see section 8). The banner will then appear again on your next visit.
8. Managing cookies and storage in your browser
All modern browsers let you view, block and delete cookies and site data. Clearing "cookies and site data" also clears local storage. Blocking all cookies may cause some websites to stop working properly; on Moquz.com, the only effect is that our banner may reappear. Menu names change between versions, so check your browser's help pages if the steps below differ slightly.
Google Chrome (desktop)
- Open the menu (three dots) and choose Settings.
- Go to Privacy and security > Third-party cookies to control cross-site cookies.
- To remove data for one site, go to Privacy and security > Site settings > View permissions and data stored across sites, search for moquz.com and delete it.
- Alternatively, click the icon to the left of the address bar while on our site and open Cookies and site data.
Mozilla Firefox (desktop)
- Open the menu (three lines) and choose Settings.
- Select Privacy & Security. Under Enhanced Tracking Protection choose Standard, Strict or Custom.
- Under Cookies and Site Data, click Manage Data, search for moquz.com and remove it.
- You can also tick Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed.
Safari (Mac)
- Open Safari > Settings (or Preferences) > Privacy.
- Keep Prevent cross-site tracking turned on, or choose Block all cookies.
- Click Manage Website Data, search for moquz.com and click Remove.
Microsoft Edge (desktop)
- Open the menu (three dots) and choose Settings.
- Go to Privacy, search, and services to choose a tracking prevention level.
- Go to Cookies and site permissions > Manage and delete cookies and site data > See all cookies and site data, search for moquz.com and delete it.
iPhone and iPad (Safari): open Settings > Apps > Safari (or Settings > Safari on older versions) > Advanced > Website Data, then swipe to delete moquz.com. You can also turn on Prevent Cross-Site Tracking or Block All Cookies.
Android (Chrome): open Chrome, tap the three dots > Settings > Site settings > All sites, find moquz.com and tap Clear & reset. Third-party cookie controls are under Settings > Privacy and security.
Other mobile browsers (Firefox, Samsung Internet, Edge): look for Settings > Privacy or Site data in the browser menu.
Most browsers also offer a private or incognito mode, which deletes cookies and local storage when you close the window. If you use it, our banner will appear on each new private session because your choice cannot be remembered.
9. Legal background
In the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, the ePrivacy Directive and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) require websites to obtain consent before storing or accessing information on your device, unless it is strictly necessary for a service you requested. Any personal data collected through cookies is also subject to the GDPR or UK GDPR. In the United States, state laws such as the CCPA/CPRA give residents the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, including through cookies used for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Because we only use one strictly necessary storage item and do not sell or share personal information, our current setup requires no consent. We still show a banner so that you are informed and so we are ready to ask for consent should our setup ever change.
10. Changes to this policy
We will update this Cookie Policy whenever we add, remove or change a cookie or storage item, and we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of the page. If a change involves non-essential cookies, we will ask for your consent through the banner before they are used.
